Ought One to Marry? Manuel II Palaiologos' Point of View [The Emperor Manuel wrote a dialog on marriage between 1394 and 1397. His aim was to emphasize how important inheritance was for the imperial family. Dabrowska suggests that the emperor later revised the text to encourage his own son to marry.
